When Arsene Wenger's team selection for Sunday's game against Stoke was announced, there were a fair few eyebrows raised about who wasn't involved.
There was no Laurent Koscielny at all, while Granit Xhaka and Henrikh Mkhitaryan were only on the bench against the Potters at the Emirates.
And Petr Cech was also absent, with David Ospina handed his first Premier League start of the season and young Matt Macey named amongst the substitutes.
When quizzed on Cech's absence, Wenger said: "He woke up yesterday with a sore groin. I hope he will be available for Thursday."
But Arsenal fans have come up with their own theory as to why Cech was not included to face Paul Lambert's side and it has nothing to do with injury.
They believe Wenger has now decided to start Cech in the Europa League, given the importance the competition now holds, so he is being rested ahead of Thursday night's quarter-final against CSKA Moscow.
