The five best matches of last week

Ode to David Ferrer. It is the perfect title for last court week, in which it was played Davic Cup World Group quarter-finals, and two WTA events. Spain eliminated Germany thanks an unforgettable performances of its lions, Ferrer e Rafael Nadal.

Garbone Muguruza won her 6th career title in Monterrey, while Kiki Bertens triunphed in Charleston, winning her 5th tournament. These are the five best matches of last seven days of tennis! 

5) Kiki Bertens vs. Julia Goerges – Charleston.

Bertens won her 5th career title on the clay of Charleston, giving a hard tennis lesson to the German. She won in two sets, for 6-2 6-1!  

4) Garbine Muguruza vs.Timea Babos – Monterrey. 

The Spaniard came out of a long moment of crisis. She lost the first partial of the final against Babos. But she was able to recover the disadvantage, winning the title in three sets. It was her 6th career title, the first of 2018!   

3) Rafael Nadal vs.Alexander Zverev – Davis Cup. 

Nadal showed again how the Old Gen is still superior on the Next Gen. His victory in three sets against the German helped his team to overcome Germany! 

 2) Lucas Pouille vs Fabio Fognini – Davis Cup.

Thanks to this wins, Pouille gave the access to the semifinals to his team. Despite Fognini won the first set, he was not able to overcome the Frenchman, who won in 4 partials.   

1) David Ferrer vs.Philipp Kohlschreiber – Davis Cup. 

Valencia's Plaza de Toros was the perfect background for this amazing match. Two two indomitable toreros fought for the victory. Ferrer won in 5 sets, after an endless five-hours race.

Definitely the most exciting and amazing match of the week!
