Justin Rose has been so close, but no cigar in two of the last three Masters Tournaments. Will the popular English golfer be playing in the 2018 Masters?
There’s nothing the like the Masters Tournament on the PGA Tour. It’s not officially spring time until you see the azaleas in bloom at the iconic Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Georgia. Could we be seeing a new Masters champion this year? How about Englishmen Justin Rose? Is he playing in this year’s tournament?
Rose will definitely be trying to earn his first green jacket yet again this year. And why would he not? Rose is coming off his second runner-up performance at Augusta just a year ago. He lost to Spain’s Sergio Garcia in sudden death in 2017. Will this be the year that Rose finally gets it done in Augusta?
Well, he’s certainly in the mix to win his first green jacket. He will be in the final pairing on Thursday afternoon in round one. Rose will be teeing off with Dustin Johnson and Rafa Cabrera Bello at 2:00 p.m. ET on April 5. That trio will take to the tee box for round two on Friday at 11:04 a.m. ET.
While Rose would like to win his first Masters, he has won a major championship before. Rose captured the 2013 U.S. Open. He has finished runner-up at Augusta in both 2015 and 2017. His best finish at the PGA Championship was third back in 2012. Rose’s best finish at the Open Championship was a long time ago back in 1998, when he finished in fourth place.
Can Rose get it done? Will the pressure of multi-time Masters winners like Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bubba Watson get to Rose this year? Find out all that and much more beginning on Thursday at Augusta.
