John Isner is the leader of the 2017 aces list. The American player 1,123 aces, leading the list for the fifth time in his career after 2016, 2013, 2012, 2010. In 2017 the second player who hit more aces was Sam Querrey (742).
The World No. 13 had the best season in his career, winning Acapulco and Los Cabos titles and reaching Wimbledon semifinals and US Open quarters. US Open finalist Kevin Anderson hit 738 aces, four less than Querrey, Gilles Muller hit 735.
The fifth player to hit more aces was Ivo Karlovic, 730. The 38-year-old Croatian played just 35 matches, and he was influenced by injuries that bothered him a lot. Karlovic was the Aces leader for five years. Since 2007, only one year, in 2011, a different player than Isner or Karlovic led the list: Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, who hit 825 aces.
The list features also Marin Cilic (724 aces), Alexander Zverev (611), Milos Raonic (566), Grigor Dimitrov (563), tenth Roger Federer (560). Cilic was the player who won more first serve points in terms of percentual: 2,333 out 2931 (80%), followed by Federer and Isner.
Rafael Nadal instead leads the second serve points won list, (1,095 out of 1,790, which is 61%).
