The Irish international is back at the club. Tuohy getting hurt

Dan Tuohy is back at Bristol Rugby after ending his loan spell at Leicester Tigers early.

The Irish international second row has injured his shoulder and is back rehabbing with the club which is the regular arrangement for Bristol when a player gets injured.

Tuohy's deal was meant to run until the New Year but in the end he played five games for Leicester before getting hurt.

Bristol have got plenty of injuries in the second row with Joe Latta, who skippered the side at the start of the season, the other big name lock out.

Latta, who signed from Gloucester this summer, is suffering with an ankle injury which is expected to keep him out until into the new year.

Also out are youngsters John Hawkins (knee) and Ehize Ehizode (shoulder).

Bristol have loaned out a couple of players this season with mixed results.

Thretton Palamo also injured his foot on loan at Dragons earlier this season and has not played since. He too is back at the club rehabbing.

So it leaves one asking the question how wise it is to send players out on loan? Yes game time is important but with the modern day game so brutal it adds a physical toll.

Olly Robinson has returned to the club this month after playing nine games for Cardiff Blues on loan and while he returns fit and arguably in some of the best form of his life, he played so well for the Pro 14 club that they now want to sign him full time.
