Will Tiger Woods to compete again for titles on the PGA Tour?

Tiger Woods is yet to announce when he will attempt his next return to competitive golf, but anticipation continues to build after the former world No. 1 offered another glimpse at his encouraging progress.

The 14-time major champion has not played since withdrawing from the Dubai Desert Classic in February.

That abortive attempt at re-joining the ranks of the game's elite prompted yet more surgery for the injury-plagued 41-year-old.

Woods, though, has posted a series of videos on Twitter showing himself hitting full iron shots and his driver in recent weeks.

On Monday he unveiled a deliberately low, punched iron shot, captioning the footage "Return of the Stinger" and adding the hashtag #starwars.

It remains to be seen if Woods' efforts in rehabilitation and the practice ground can enable him to compete again for titles on the PGA Tour, but he is undoubtedly doing a great job of generating hype among those hoping to see a giant of the modern game back among the best once again.

Last week, Woods' agent Mark Steinberg told ESPN his client had been cleared by a surgeon to resume playing without restrictions, but insisted the American would not rush his return to action.
