Paula Creamer explains how she came up with her Solheim Cup handshake

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Paula Creamer is still only 31-years-old, but on this young and talented team, she’s a steely veteran.

And she’s playing like it. In her seventh Solheim Cup appearance, Creamer has assumed the role of mentoring rookie Austin Ernst (you can read more about it on USA TODAY Sports), and after an unlucky foursomes loss on Friday, the pair stormed to two wins on Saturday.

Through it all, Ernst and Creamer celebrated with their own personalized hand shake. It involves the two tapping forearms then doing a kind of down low backwards high five; you can see it from a variety of different angles below.

It’s a moral-boosting, team building exercise, Creamer explained afterwards, and a bit of fun, too. Worth a few bruises.
