NBA writer and radio host Ethan Skolnick was arrested Wednesday and charged with battery in Boca Raton, according to the Palm Beach County sheriff’s office.
Skolnick, 44, of Miramar, was charged on one count of battery on a person 65 years of age or older.
Skolnick, who has been a senior NBA writer for CBS Sports and hosted “The Ethan Skolnick Show” on 790 The Ticket, left the show on July 31 and has not been on air since. The reasons for his departure were unclear.
Skolnick was also a former columnist for the Miami Herald, covering the Miami Heat during the 2015-16 season. He also had previous sports reporting jobs at the Herald, the Sun Sentinel and the Palm Beach Post.
Esther-Mireya Tejeda, a spokeswoman for the station’s parent company Entercom, said it was aware of Skolnick’s arrest and investigating.
“We understand that Ethan Skolnick was involved in an incident that led to his arrest,” she wrote. “While this is a personal situation, we do take these matters seriously.”
