Luke Maye is one tough dude.
The UNC basketball player was involved in a car accident on Thursday in which his car flipped several times before coming to rest upside down on the interstate. Somehow the 20-year-old student only suffered a few bumps and bruises and walked away on his own feet.
Maye, who recently put on an impressive performance in the Tar Heels’ national championship run, was driving down I-85 when he hit an 18-wheeler and lost control of his car. Luke’s father Mark confirmed the news, telling The Charlotte Observer his son “was very fortunate.”
“Thank the good Lord he is fine. Put a real scare in him — and us,” Mark Maye added.
Luke’s car was totaled during the wreck, but he didn’t have to go to the hospital afterwards and even made it to his youngest brother’s middle-school graduation later that night. Thankfully, nobody else was hurt in the wreck.
