The video of Tiger Woods’ arrest Monday morning has been released and the footage shows the professional golfer shouldn’t have been behind the wheel.
Woods was arrested early Monday morning on suspicion of driving under the influence after the police found him asleep behind the wheel of his car. Although the cops clearly thought Woods had been drinking due to his zombie-like state, he insisted that he hadn’t and later blew a 0.00 in a breath test for alcohol.
During his conversation with the police on the side of the road Tiger can be heard slurring his words while answering the officer’s questions. Throughout the question he remains polite and cooperative to the best of his ability in his altered state, which we now know was influenced by prescription medications.
“I understand the severity of what I did and I take full responsibility for my actions,” Woods said in a statement after news spread of his arrest.
The 41-year-old golfer underwent back surgery about five weeks ago and is taking some time away from the PGA Tour to recover.
“I want the public to know that alcohol was not involved,” Woods said. “What happened was an unexpected reaction to prescribed medications. I didn’t realize the mix of medications had affected me so strongly.”
