Organizers of the WTA Miami event weren't so respectful towards Angelique Kerber. On Friday the World No.
1 's match against Ying Ying Duan was supposed to take place not before 5:00 PM local time on the Central Court, as fourth match of the day. However there were several rain delays and
Garbine Muguruza's match against Christina McHale, as well as Simona Halep 's against Naomi Osaka, ended at the third set.
Despite Rafael Nadal and Kei Nishikori won in less than an hour and a half, in order to make the night session start at 7:00 PM with the match between Grigor Dimitrov and Guido Pella, the event decided to move Kerber's match to another court that at the beginning it wasn't decided: or Grandstand or Court No. 1, depending on which schedule would have ended first.
And so Kerber entered the Grandstand court at 11:20 PM after Verdasco's win over Escobedo. At the same time, Venus Williams was winning her match against Haddaz Maria, the last match of the day on Central Court. It wasn't definitely a smart move, especially because she is a World No. 1.
