It's officially NHL trade deadline day and there has already been a considerable amount of trades and chatter around the league.
It's the last chance for contending teams to bolster their rosters, and for bottom-feeders to dump salaries and acquire assets for the future before today's 3 p.m. ET deadline.
Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk was the biggest domino to fall Monday when he was shipped from the Blues to the Capitals. Other big names, such as Martin Hanzal, Ben Bishop, Brian Boyle, Brendan Smith and Viktor Stalberg, have also been dealt.
Tuesday night the Blackhawks acquired defenseman Johnny Oduya from the Stars for forward Mark McNeill and a conditional fourth-round draft pick.
