Burglars made away with $500,000 in swag from Nick Young's house over the All-Star break, a Los Angeles police official confirmed Thursday to the Los Angeles Times.
The Lakers guard, nicknamed Swaggy P, wasn't at his Tarzana home at the time of the break Feb. 18 or 19.
A police spokeswoman wouldn't confirm that it was Young's home from which burglars took $500,000 in "jewelry and other items," but an unidentified police official told the Times that it was, in fact, Young's residence, a $3.4 million property that he and then-girlfriend Iggy Azalea bought from actress Selena Gomez in 2014.
The break-in happened while Young was in New Orleans to participate in the 3-point shooting portion of the All-Star Skills Challenge.
The Times noted that the burglary is the most recent in a stream of break-ins at celebrity homes across L.A., though LAPD investigators haven't said whether they think the crimes are connected.
Last week, burglars broke into Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig's home and got away with what police estimated at $170,000 in jewelry and other items.
Last month, thieves stole a safe containing $2 million in jewelry from singer Alanis Morissette's home in Brentwood. Also in recent months, former NBA player and current TV analyst Derek Fisher's home in Tarzana was broken into, as was hip-hop star Nicki Minaj's Westside home, and burglars are estimated to have stolen hundreds of thousands of dollars in jewelry, police said.
