Super-middleweight champion retained his title after a hard-fought draw against WBC belt holder Badou Jack in New York last weekend.
DeGale returned to England on Monday and called out Groves yesterday as he eyes revenge over his fellow Londoner.
Groves won a close points decision when the pair met for the British title in 2011 and he also has a victory over DeGale as an amateur.DeGale said: "George Groves has been running his mouth again. He is meant to be fighting for the WBA title but is he going to get that? I'm not sure.
"It is easier just to fight me for the IBF title at the O2 or the Emirates. We will both make big money."
Groves is set to fight Fedor Chudinov for the WBA super-middleweight title in February or March but would be available for a summer clash if he wins.DeGale could also fight Callum Smith but the Liverpool star is in line for a shot at the WBC title.
WBO middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders has left trainer Jimmy Tibbs to work with David Haye's former coach Adam Booth.
